My map is showing primarily Hawaii Islands lave flow. It shows all major highways volcanoes and summits. I also added The Volcanoes National Park Boundary Bird Survey from 2012. I found this assignment to be very interesting you can literally create any map around the world. The mapping technology could be extremely useful in other course. This could be used in engineering courses to find better ways to alleviated busy intersections. It could be used in meteorology course to show weather patterns of a particular area. The possibilities for this to be useful are endless.
The power that this technology provides the creator is that you can use this to tell the read any story you want. You have the power to give as much or as little information you want. You get to decide what you think the reader wants to see or what you think will keep the reader’s attention.
Of all the assignments in this course I found this one to be the most exciting. I hope to re-visit this web site to explore more possibilities and more maps that are available. This was assignment was very interactive and hands on, I hope to have more assignments like this in my educational career.
